Today is about rate one of ours classmate´s blog so I decides to choose Manuel Romero´s Blog because is the one that I always read and because he is my partner in the final test, in this class and he is also my bro in workshop (yoyo)
I think the name of the blog: English Speaking Manu and the adress: www.youputthewords are very funny, gives the feeling that he know nothing about how to express in english but for the ones who knows him, we know that is just the opposite.
At this moment the blog has 9 post, but my favorite one is the post called Home Sweet Home, when he shows to us some pictures of their house when he lived in Germany. The reality is I feel a Little bit of envy when I watch them because there are really beautifull, and the post is very touching about his feelings at that moment.
The blog in general is quite simple, doesn´t have big graphics changes in relation with the others but the content is very interesting. I think manuel have a high level of english, much better than me, and in that sence he doesn´t need so many advices. Maybe he could change the background color or the pattern for his blog because I personally dislike the green color, it´s so strong that hurts (jajaja maybe i´m exaggerating).

What makes chileans chileans

Well the topic about what makes chileans chileans it´s a Little bit compicated because to define it you have to generalize and thats not to good, but there is some characteristics that are common for us. For example, the unpunctuality, I have to recognize that I always get late, everywhere, not to much, but it´s just like if I was genetically determinated for been unpunctual. Every day I try not to be but it´s more powerfull than me. I know maybe you are not like that but it´s seems to be characterstic of chilean peolpe not be accurate with the time. Another thing that define us is that we always try to get the most of the situations, always trying to cheat, I really think that we´re not very honest, of course is not every one. But there are good things too, like we have solidarity and maybe this is a Little cliché but I had the posibility to prove it. Solidary initiatives like Un Techo para Chile, where I´ve participate prove that chilean people is really solidary, specially when it´s about por people.
Besides about the question if are we nacionalistic, well I think that on certain occasions we can be very nacionalistic, like today, when the national footbol team plays. It´s so funny because suddenly everyone´s so patriotic. Flags are everywhere. But there´s another situations like earthquakes and floods that make us feels part of this country and wake our felling of cooperate with our own people.

Rythm and Colors

The photo that I choose it was taken by one of my best friend, Camila, at the patrimonial day of 2009 when we were to visit the building where the CEPAL Works, the spanish acronym of CEPAL means The Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLA) and is a really beautifull building, made by Emilio Duhart and respond to the modern architecture. The photography shows and spiral strairs that is inside the building. Well I have to confess that the colors on the picture are modify to intensify the effect but that part of the reason because I like it. Maybe it´s a Little bit complicated to understand the angle but the photo was taken from to top to the bottom of the stairs. The reason because I like it is for the colors, and for the rythm that the step and lights and because its fells like it will never ends. I really enjoy this kind of photos that shows things in a secuancial order, specially if is about architectural things. Right now I don´t remember a good web side that shows this kind of potos but when I get Home I promese to post it. Besides the photo remains me the friend that took the picture because she is not here in chile, she is in France for interchange student and I really miss her.
So I recomended to vistit this building the next patrimonial day, because is the only day of the year that the Cepal it´s open to the public.

Schools against creativity

I completly agree with Sir Ken Robinson in the fact that schools do not allowed to kids to be creatives. I Think the afraid to be wrong is one of the main reason for every one to not participate with the teachears in a class. Because we learnt that if you make mistakes then you will be qualifided with a bad mark and we used to always try to said the right answer for not been panished. That´s a completely mistake. The schools must give the opportunity to their students to experiment and learn of their experience. Sadly, the programs of public education are not orientated in that way. Besides the thing that Robinsos said about studies program is so true. The arts, the music and all the disciplines related with that are so despice because if one person dedicate his life to one of those, they you´ll be happy (maybe) but pour, they´ll not have an economic stability, given so much important to the success of earn Money.
Another topic that I found interesting about the speach was he mencionated about reformulating the educational system according to the fact that the schools educated people to live in an uncertain future. So I think the schools must give the abilities to solve problems creativitly and not just give the knowledge of how to make a mathematical exercise or history dates and maybe they´ve to re think about their mark system based in the capacity to understanding the problem and not just memorazed it.
